{"id":4785,"date":"2026-03-20T12:00:03","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T12:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.mageia.org\/en\/?p=4785"},"modified":"2026-03-20T12:00:03","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T12:00:03","slug":"we-are-proud-to-announce-the-first-beta-of-mageia-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mageia.org\/en\/2026\/03\/20\/we-are-proud-to-announce-the-first-beta-of-mageia-10\/","title":{"rendered":"We are proud to announce the first beta of Mageia 10"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This is a slightly edited version of a post written by BAud<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having been approved by the Council, the Mageia 10 beta1 ISOs are now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mageia.org\/en\/downloads\/prerelease\">available<\/a> for public testing.\u00a0 All together about 26GB of ISOs have landed in the ..\/mageia\/iso\/10\/ branch of our mirrors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lot of fixes and new updates have been added since <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mageia.org\/en\/2026\/01\/10\/mageia-10-first-alpha-iso-validated-by-council\/\">Mageia 10 alpha1<\/a> arrived back in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following version freeze, here are notable changes from Mageia 9:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>kernel 6.18 (LTS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plasma 6.5<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GNOME 49<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Xfce 4.20<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LibreOffice 26.2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Firefox ESR 140.8<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mesa 26.0.2 &#8211; enabling latest drivers for AMD, Intel and nouveau (nVidia proprietary drivers are available too)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plan is still to have the official Mageia 10 release ready in April 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next steps include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Publish a beta 2 containing artwork and documentation updated for mga10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase tests, especially for upgrades from mga9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Concentrate on fixing  <a href=\"https:\/\/madb.mageialinux-online.org\/blockers\/\">release blocker bugs<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mageia 10 Beta1 set includes a comprehensive collection of installation formats:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Classical Installation ISOs for traditional installs on 32-bit (i686) and 64-bit systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live Desktop Images featuring popular desktops such as Plasma, GNOME, and Xfce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ISOs can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mageia.org\/en\/downloads\/prerelease\">here<\/a> or in the ..<em>\/mageia\/iso\/10\/<\/em> directory of your favourite mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enjoy your testing _o\/!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a slightly edited version of a post written by BAud.
