Let&#8217;s improve the quality of our favourite distro!<\/p>\n<p>We have organized <a href=\"http:\/\/mageia.org\/wiki\/doku.php?id=qa_test-day\">2 testing days<\/a> on <strong>April 11<sup>th<\/sup> and 12<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>. We&#8217;re testing the Beta 1 ISOs; please focus on these areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the list of software packages included in ISOs and repositories: please file a bug report if you notice that a package is missing and include an explanation of why we should add it;<\/li>\n<li>upgrading from Mandriva Linux 2010.1 and 2010.2: we want to have an easy upgrade from these to Mageia 1 Final release, so these tests are really important. Please have a look on the <a href=\"http:\/\/mageia.org\/wiki\/doku.php?id=qa_upgrade\">upgrade test page<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>hardware detection: please test your hardware configuration and file a bug report for any problem you experience;<\/li>\n<li>the installation process: please test the Mageia installer from Beta 1 ISOs, following\u00a0this <a href=\"http:\/\/mageia.org\/wiki\/doku.php?id=qa_install\">installation testing procedure<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Asian locales (and input methods) and localisation\u00a0in general.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will find all sorts of help on the various Mageia support channels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>development mailing-list;<\/li>\n<li>IRC: <a href=\"irc:\/\/irc.freenode.net\/#mageia-dev\">#mageia-dev<\/a> on Freenode server;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/forums.mageia.org\/\">Mageia forums<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks in advance for your contributions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mageia 1 Beta 1 is just out and it&#8217;s now time for testing.
